Family House on Factory Creek

Cooling Breezes and Spectacular Views

This home sits high on a bluff overlooking downtown Beaufort and Factory Creek, perfectly positioned to capture the prevailing breezes and shifting light. From the moment you pass beneath the canopy of a sprawling live oak and step onto the wide front porch, it’s clear, this is a place made for enjoying the beauty and rhythm of the Lowcountry. The home was envisioned as a retreat where family and friends could gather, connect, and unwind in a setting that celebrates the outdoors as much as the indoors.

Made for Gathering

Designed for easy, gracious living, the home unfolds around generous porches, a lively pool terrace, and an open kitchen that becomes the heart of every get-together. Each space flows naturally to the next, encouraging impromptu conversations, shared meals, and long, breezy afternoons.

Resilient by Design

At the same time, the house is deeply resilient, engineered to withstand the unique demands of its waterfront site. Impact-rated windows, a continuous load path from foundation to roof, and durable exterior materials offer strength without sacrificing beauty. We oriented the rooms to follow the light and take full advantage of the views, with 10-foot-tall windows that frame water, sky, and town from every angle.

Connecting to the Land

The result is a home that feels like a deep breath. Light pours in. Breezes move through. And no matter the season or the size of the gathering, it’s a place where the connection to nature, and to one another, comes effortlessly. Each sunset paints a different picture, and each day closes with the sense that there’s nowhere else you'd rather be.
