The historic district of Beaufort is known for antebellum architecture, featuring Federal, Neoclassical and Greek revival styles. In 1969, historic Beaufort was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1973. Hilton Head island and Bluffton boast world class golf courses and resorts tucked into a natural and serene landscape.
But the unique, not to mention changing, South Carolina climate can make building or renovating a challenge.
