February Construction Update
It’s February in the Lowcountry, which means it can be 37 degrees or 73 degrees, like today! We are loving watching our projects being built. First up is the Cane Island house, which is going to be amazing! This week, they are working on the interior stairs and they just finished sanding the wood floors. Here’s a couple photos:
The Brays Island renovation is 99% done, and wow, looks great! Next time we will share professional photography of this stunning house, as well as the before pictures.
We have two of our Camellia plan houses being built in Beaufort right now! Its fun to see them side-by side
The first is in Islands of Beaufort:
The other Camellia is in the Grays Hill area of Northern Beaufort County, on the Marshes of McCalley Creek
These three projects are just getting started. A new house on Brays Island, the great porch on St. Helena Island and a renovation project in Rose Hill.

The Camellia, in Islands of Beaufort
This is our Camellia plan (see more here), that has been customized for clients in Islands of Beaufort.

The contractors are almost finished on this Spring Island renovation. We also helped with the interiors on this house. We added some new pieces while keeping many of the existing. There is a whole new furniture plan that focuses on how the clients used the space.

Fripp Island
This beach house is getting really close to completion. How great do those sleek sunpower pv panels look?! These owners are so excited about their new house, which is our favorite thing ever!
Port Royal, Union Church
The renovation of historic Union Church is moving right along. The drywall is hung and the windows have been uncovered, it is a beautiful space!
Butterfly Dogtrot
I am loving this dogtrot cottage with butterfly roofs! The first design for these clients was this “Lowcountry Cottage” but I think what the design morphed into will be even cooler than the preliminary drawings.
June Construction Progress
Union Church
Renovation and Addition to Historic (1870's) Union Church in Port Royal, South Carolina.
Cane Island House
The majority of the masonry block wall construction for the house portion of the project is complete. It is always exciting to see vertical construction. With the foundation formed, the house is really being to take shape! Want to see the design? Revisit Cane Island House when it was still on the boards.
Palmetto Bluff Guest House
This is a guest house that is going on a Palmetto Bluff house that we designed. See the Kessler Residence in our portfolio here.
The exterior walls and doors are installed and the contractor is installing air tight sealant at small gaps in the building envelope to ensure the house is tight.

We are getting close to finishing some of our projects under construction...so close that the protective layers are being removed from the interior finishes. This is always an exciting time. Check out the construction progress in the photos below.

Our services include construction administration, which is essential for the success of our projects. We visit the job sites regularly to ensure that the house is being built as drawn, and to address any issues or questions that invariably arise during the construction process. We welcome abundant questions from the contractors and our clients during the construction phase. The more we communicate, the better the outcome. Factory Creek House
The view from this house is incredible. It sits on a bluff over Factory Creek, with a west facing view over the Beaufort River and downtown Beaufort, SC. There will be some spectacular sunset watching going on in this great room!
Long Cove Renovation
The outdoor living areas at this house are fantastic! Can't you just imagine gathering with friends around the outdoor fireplace on a chilly evening or soaking in some of the first warm weather days of the Spring?
St. Simons Island, Georgia
There has been lots of progress on the St. Simon's Island house since construction began in November! It's always fun to see the house take shape in the framing phase.

Under Construction- December
While other parts of the country put construction projects on hold so they can dig themselves out of the snow, our projects are moving full-steam ahead! See the latest site visit photos in our December construction update.
Benjie went down to St. Simon's Island for his first site visit there this week. We are excited that this project is getting started. And we approve of dog-help on job sites!
Spring Island
The Spring Island house is coming along very nicely. Currently, Esposito Construction is installing interior trim and wood floors. They are going to begin installing cabinets and tile next week.
Port Royal Plantation
There has been good progress at the Port Royal Plantation house. I love the front elevation, its really going to look great with a bright red front door!
Long Cove Renovation
Our major renovation in Long Cove has drywall hung and they will begin installing trim soon.
Factory Creek House
All the drywall is hung in the Factory Creek House and the painters are beginning to prime the walls. The views from this house are stellar, the clients are going to love having all those windows!

There is quite a nice view of Factory Creek from the second floor.
This Palmetto Bluff House is almost finished.
The Berkeley Hall project is almost completed, too.
