October Construction Updates
The weather is cooling off and activity on our job sites is in full swing!
The Magnolia
First, I want to show one of our Close to Custom houses that has been recently completed in Mississippi. The owners are so happy with their dogtrot! You can see more info about the Magnolia here.
Camellia
Another Close to Custom design, the Camellia, is in the beginning stages in Islands of Beaufort. The foundation is a sealed crawl space for the house and a slab for the garage.
Lucy Creek
Our friends on Lucy Creek are renovating to improve their outdoor living space. It is going to be a fabulous spot to enjoy the view!
Cane Island
Interior trim is going in, and wow, it looks fantastic! That stair hall!
Spring Island Reno
The goal for the kitchen was to lighten and modernize, I think we’ve achieved it at the Shrimp Pond Studio house. Loving the cabinets by Sanders Woodworks!
May Construction
Spring Island
This house (and its owners) are special to us. While its not uncommon for us to revisit a Frederick + Frederick house to renovate or add-on, we don’t typically get the opportunity for so many projects at the same house. This house was built around 2000, then we built the guitar & quilting studio and a courtyard for new owners (photos of that project are here). We won an honor award from AIASC for this phase of the project.
Then we did a bathroom renovation and modified the gable end in the front of the house. Now we are renovating the kitchen, pantry and downstairs bedroom. Demo is complete and framing is underway!
Cane Island
Siding is mostly complete, decking and window trim are being installed. The house on Cane Island is looking great!
Brays Island
This big renovation project is nearing completion. It is a really unique project and we can’t wait to see the final product soon!
Master Bath renovation
Before & After
Here is a master bath renovation that we completed a couple of years ago in the Shrimp Pond house. The Shrimp Pond house is at Spring Island, South Carolina. We designed the house in the 90's, then new owners hired us for the Shrimp Pond Studio addition and for a remodel of the master bath.

Shower:
The addition of the round window in the shower and the new tile make it so much brighter and prettier.
Vanity:
The floating vanity gives the space a contemporary feel. It's a cleaner aesthetic, and easier to clean too!
Tub:
The tub area is updated by swapping the drop in tub for a free standing tub, new tile and losing that dated brick accent wall.

Exterior
A unique and gracious entry, well executed by Esposito Construction.
Foyer
We used "Subway Stone" from Lowountry Pavers for the foyer floor and in various hardscape applications. We love the unique shape of the pavers!
Under Construction- December
While other parts of the country put construction projects on hold so they can dig themselves out of the snow, our projects are moving full-steam ahead! See the latest site visit photos in our December construction update.
Benjie went down to St. Simon's Island for his first site visit there this week. We are excited that this project is getting started. And we approve of dog-help on job sites!
Spring Island
The Spring Island house is coming along very nicely. Currently, Esposito Construction is installing interior trim and wood floors. They are going to begin installing cabinets and tile next week.
Port Royal Plantation
There has been good progress at the Port Royal Plantation house. I love the front elevation, its really going to look great with a bright red front door!
Long Cove Renovation
Our major renovation in Long Cove has drywall hung and they will begin installing trim soon.
Factory Creek House
All the drywall is hung in the Factory Creek House and the painters are beginning to prime the walls. The views from this house are stellar, the clients are going to love having all those windows!

Spring Island
Framing is progressing nicely at the Spring Island house. Spring Island is one of our favorite communities in Beaufort County. We love their dedication to preserving the natural beauty of the island!
Port Royal Plantation
It's always fun to see the view that our clients will enjoy from the elevated height. Quite a view from this house!
Factory Creek
Framing on the garage for this project is nearly complete, and beginning for the main house.
Fripp Island
This renovation project is almost finished. We started construction over a year ago by raising the house 5 ' to get it out of the flood plain. Here is the post of when we raised it.
On the Boards at Spring Island
We have a great new project on the boards at Spring Island. The property has a long view over Pole Creek.
