Sanofi-Aventis is looking for the next big idea in diabetes care. To determine the parameters for the Innovation Challenge, they crowd sourced diabetics to find out the answer to the question “”What matters to you?” The diabetic community answered and the challenge was to provide a solution for the following: 1. Create tools that make them feel in control, 2. Recognize that people want to be well – not just address systems and 3. Understand that diabetes affects, friends, family and close communities.
The EnduringFX team is developing an elegant, user-friendly system to track all activities affecting blood glucose levels. On one screen, diabetics will have a complete dashboard with which to analyze their personal insulin, carbohydrate, and activity needs.
Each semi-finalist team will receive $20,000 to further develop their idea along with intensive mentoring and will attend a Design Bootcamp. The semi-finalist teams will present their prototypes to the judges in May. The field will be narrowed to 2 teams and ultimately the winning team will be awarded $100,000 to bring the product to fruition.
