Here are a few photos we got on a recent trip out to Spring Island of the tabby ruins out there. Tabby was often used as a building material here in the Lowcountry and is made with oyster shells, sand, and lime. These particular ruins were the plantation home of the Edwards family on the East side of the island. For more information about tabby, check out our post of the Chapel of Ease.
